Is This You? Who Footprint Serves…

I offer products and services only for new and emerging leaders.

Most Footprint clients are emerging leaders in organizations across many industries. Usually those individuals are between the ages of 35 and 50. They would describe themselves as “go-getters” and may have been identified by the organization they work for as someone “with potential.”

They typically have a promising (but shorter) track record of success they want to build on. They are considering a bigger role in the company or have just landed one. They may be juggling their career with the needs of a young family, yet they are still thirsty for challenging, rewarding opportunities – if they can balance it with outside commitments.

All my clients are bright, energetic and eager to have interesting and fulfilling careers.

What’s MISSING is the ability to get to that next level without sacrificing personal commitments.

Do any of the following scenarios fit your situation?

You are serious about building a rewarding career but don’t want to be consumed by it either. It’s not that you’re afraid of hard work, just the opposite; you simply have other priorities as well. You want to be paid what you’re worth because you’re working smarter, not longer.

You sometimes question your ability to produce bigger results, despite your success to date. You may be wondering why everyone else seems to have it together while you usually feel as though you’re flying by the seat of your pants. Those nagging doubts may be holding you back from going to the next level. What would you accomplish without them?

You want to be top of mind when the next interesting opportunity comes around. Usually the best way to do this is to “wow them” in your current role. But what do you do beyond doing more of the same? You’re looking for simple and effective ways to make a bigger impact without burying yourself in work.

You have landed a bigger role leading others and you are out of your comfort zone. This may be a formal role change or simply an informal work team arrangement. In either case, you know you’ll have to leave the familiar world of doing the work and transition to managing the work. You want effective ways to let go of control and handle the people side of things with confidence.

You have poured a lot of energy into your results at work but it’s starting to cost you elsewhere. It’s easy to put family, health or yourself on the back burner when urgent work priorities call. You know you can only do this for so long before it catches up with you. You’re probably wondering if there’s an easier way to create sustainable results without the sacrifice you’re experiencing.

You have lost some of your “umph” for work and want to get it back. You had big aspirations a few years ago but somehow over time the day-to-day demands have worn you down. It happens. The spark is still there and you’ve decided it’s time to turn it back on. You just don’t know where to start or how to keep it going.

You may be one of the younger faces around the table. Because you’ve shown such potential, you’ve moved up the ranks and received more responsibility more quickly. You want to gain credibility and work with the self-assurance necessary to succeed in a more senior environment.

If one or more of these scenarios is true for you, please read on. You're in the right place. There is help for you here.

Who is most likely to succeed using my approach to leadership?

My clients typically share many of the following characteristics. If you subscribe to these, working together will be a natural fit.

Authenticity – You’re giving up pretending to be something you’re not. You are willing to acknowledge your shortcomings (at least in private conversation) and utilize the talent you do have.

Passion for excellence – You have no interest in being average, yet you don’t waste time trying to be perfect, either.

Prepared to take appropriate risk – Courage is at the heart of growth, learning and leadership. It is the key to playing a much bigger game.

Committed to success – Having the impact you want is rarely the easy route. You have a “do-what-it-takes” attitude to make things happen.

Willingness to invest in yourself and your future – You know you are the best investment you can make.

Strong desire to contribute – It's not just about the money, but about making a difference with those you work with, and for.

Knowing the importance of supportive relationships – You understand that no one is an island and you appreciate the value of another perspective.

Deep respect for yourself and others – You measure the results you achieve by what you had to give up to get them.

Great sense of humour – You don’t have to be a comedian, but an ability to look at the lighter side of life makes the journey so much easier and productive.

If you fit the profile above, I can help you accelerate your development as an emerging leader. Learn more about the way I do that in What to Expect.
